Jane Peterson considered by some to be one of the greatest American female artists. This nicely done still life water color has been conservation matted and framed in 23K gilt custom moulding. Jane Peterson studied at Pratt Institute in ny under Arthur Dow, she was friends with and influenced by Matise, Picasso, Maurice Pendergrast and her mentor Louis Tiffany. She traveled with Tiffany and painted many florals from his garden. Some are said to compare to Monets garden paintings. Peterson used many mediums and styles. Her works have brought in excess of $500,000 at auction. This nice little water color is ready to hang and enjoy.

Beautifully done winter snow scene by famous Hudson River
artist Arthur Parton. Presented in nice deep cove custom frae in 23K gold and Dutch leaf. Arthur Parton is well listed Hudson River artist. Exhibited at the National Academy of Desigh for over 50 years. Trained at Pennsylvania Acadamy of Fine Art under William Trost Richards, and in 1862 had his first exhibition there. His pieces hang in Museums and private collections through out the US. This well executed landscape is a lot of art for the money. Great sofa painting.

Description: Nice small landscape by well listed Massachusetts/Florida artist Anthony Thieme. Thieme moved from Holland to the US in the 1920's. He did lots of NY scenes and later moved to Rockport and St. Petersburg, FL. He was an active exhibitor at the National Academy and his works hang in major collections and Museums throughout the US and abroad. The artwork has been lightly cleaned and varnished and is presented in a A/C style custom 23K gilt frame. This painting has a lot of character and charm. Perfect for your collection and small enough to hang anywhere.

Description: Well done study of a mans head with cap, looks to be a fighter? George Luks was born in Pennsylvania and at 17 attended the Penn. Academy of fine arts. He traveled and painted in Germany, Paris and Italy. He worked as a newspaper reported and illustrator. He became friends with Everett Shinn, Williams Glackens, John Sloan and Robert Henri. They latter became known as the Pennsylvania Five. In 1896 after serving as war correspondent in Cuba, he moved to New York. Luks taught at the Art Students league and also gave classes at his own studio. He was know as a hard drinker and was found dead in the street after a bar brawl.

Cappy Amundsen aka J.J. Enwright. Born in New York and loved boats and the water, as a young artist he painted the cost around Gloucester and Provincetown Mass. He was believed to have painted over 300 pieces and signed them J.J. Enwright. He later moved to Sag Harbor and lived and painted there till his death. His works hang in collections and galleries through out the US. The painting of the Harbor has great muted yellows and pale colors and really gives you the feel of a late evening in the Gloucester bay with the sun going down. The painting has been cleaned and is ready for hanging. A lot if painting for the money!

She got her inspiration form Tiffany's home and her own gardens. She also painted with Maurice Prendergast and went on to produce lots of beach scenes and nautical themes.
